![]() Trail in the Sunday Express - July 27th '08 We were featured in the financial section of the Sunday Express with a picture and a nice writeup on how we're raising money for the debut album. The most interesting point here is that the journalist who wrote the story didnt even listen to our music which just goes to show how it is becoming more about the story rather than the music when it comes to getting noticed by the media. Hopefully this is a good sign that we do have something unique and newsworthy enough. They have asked us to stay in touch again and will feature us again once we've raised the £20k. Beer, Bratwurst and er.. Bon Jovi? - June '08 Trail have formed an unlikely alliance with a German Market which travels the south of England offering authentic German sausages and Munich lager. Most Saturdays, we can be found in their self-erected beer garden stage belting out a mixture of trail originals and classic rock covers. Its proving to be excellent live practise (5 hours at a time) and a great opportunity to sell our demo CDs and raise money for our Slicethepie funded album. In the few weeks we've been doing it we've already sold over 250 of our CDs and accrued a tonne of otherwise unreachable new Trail fans. You can keep track of where we'll be next on our gigs page under 'Paulaner beer festival' Joe Lean support - Warwick Student Union - May '08 As winners of the monthly (e-music) emerging music award, we won the opening slot to support this indie band of the minute (Joe Lean & the Jing Jang Jong) at Warwick University. It was a great opportunity to play outside the capital in a packed venue where the stage and sound system easily rivalled some of the biggest we've played in London. From the massive 2 hour trip up there (and 1 hour trip back) down to the truly nasty travelling dietary habbits of our company (Woody i told you that out-of-date reduced-price baguette would hurt you in the end!), we feel its safe to say this little adventure has us fully prepared for the rigors of the road. Fortunately no band members tried to kill each other. Let's see how we fare on a multi-day tour. New Song - Prism - April '08 After months of more studio blood sweat and beers, we can finally unveil our new track Prism. It's been produced by ourselves but has travelled the globe - drums were recorded in North London, guitars in Wimbledon and vocals laid down in Enfield. The track was finally sent over to be mixed in both L.A. and Canada. We have high hopes for this track and have already created an extended 'stadium rock' intro in anticipation of the inevitable. Fiction Plane - Support gig - March '08 After wowing the crowds at our last Water Rats gig (supporting man from Michael and Make Model), we (and our crowd) were invited back to support 'Fiction Plane' on their only London date. (Joe Sumner AKA. Sting's son(!) fronts this excellent 3-piece). Naturally the venue was rammed with more than 300 'fictionaries' and our own finest fans. This was far and away one of the most fun gigs yet. Their guitarist has kindly recommended us to the producer of their latest album too so watch this space! Indy Award Nomination! Feedmemusic, the promoters for Astoria2, Clapham Grand and 93 feet east, have nominated Trail for an Indy award. The nomination is for our live performance at Dingwalls last year, which did rock, even if we say so ourselves… Please vote for us! Just click on the link below and then click on "vote" under Trail. http://www.indyawards.co.uk/2008/artist_voting.php?artists=T There is always a lot of Industry buzz around these awards so it would be great to get through to the next phase. Trail Announce New Member Trail are delighted to announce that they once again have a complete line up as they welcome their new drummer Chris 'Woody' Wood into the ranks. Having toured the London circuit for the last couple of years, he was drafted in as a last minute replacement for the Monto Water Rats gig at the end of January. The gig essentially became an audition which by all accounts he passed with flying colours and it was agreed Woody was the right sort of drummer to come on board full-time. Originally hailing from Plymouth, he is without a doubt the hardest hitting drummer ever to emerge from the Westcountry and adds a whole new level of power to Trail’s sound. Trail's Debut at the Water Rats Trail rocked the Monto Water Rats in Kings Cross at the end of January in what proved to be an amazing, if not tense night for the band. Despite being the first on the bill below two signed acts Make Model and Man From Michael the boys were by far the most entertaining band of the night. Trail win Capital 95.8 & Intel Competition
